Huda planned a “Matcha Hour” – quiet, intimate, and deeply personal – to honor her late mother, Mariam, who loved matcha long before the rest of the world caught on. HerCafe crafted specialty drinks for the occasion, including a menu addition called Mariam’s Matcha. This custom matcha drink was made with coconut milk, just the way her mother always ordered it. Huda’s uncle spoke about Mariam and the mark she left on everyone in that room. Her siblings followed. Then her mother’s best friend. One by one, people who loved her stood up and said so.
